Ham and Corn Chowder

  • 1-3/4 cups 2% low fat milk
  • 1 (14 to 15 ounce) can cream-style corn
  • 3/4 pound Patrick Cudahy? ReaLean Ham
    cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cold water


  • Combine milk, corn, ham onions and hot sauce in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over high heat. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water until smooth. Stir into soup; simmer 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Ladle into bowls; top with cheese if desired.
